¿Quién soy? Who am I?

¿Dorothy o Dorotea?

Es una larga historia. It’s a long story.

I earned a B.A. in East Asian Language and Literature from Yale University and an M.F.A. and in Creative Writing from The University of the South/Sewanee School of Letters. Despite studying Mandarin Chinese in college, however, I fell in love with Spanish in Mexico and on the streets of Manhattan. (Yes, it’s a tale of passion.)

I ran a Spanish language school and Latin American cultural center in New York City for twelve years. I have taught intensive group Spanish courses at Einstein College of Medicine, Catholic Medical Centers, Montefiore Hospital, Jacobi Hospital, New York Medical College, and IBM.

I designed the first synchronous online Spanish program at The New School in New York City and created the curriculum for the nation’s only certified Spanish course for lactation consultants. I’ve also written and edited Spanish curriculum for Berlitz International, Learning Express, and other educational publishers.

Now all my experience is at your service—¡a la carta!

I coach adults in private, bespoke online courses. I tailor your curriculum to your needs to address your communicative goals.

I am also a bilingual writer, editor, and literary translator. Want to know more about my literary work? Visit my other website:  dpsnyder.us.
